// ...And The Best Game You Can Name...

Tonight was the season opener for Sam and me for another year of hockey. Unlike last year however, we have the NHL as well.

You know what I love about the game of hockey? Don't think about the NHL for a minute, for they have given an incredibly bad picture for hockey. When people think of hockey, they think of greedy players, fighting, and other things that really have nothing to do with what actual hockey is. For those who truly hate hockey, or just dislike it, they look for the first and smallest little thing that happens in the NHL, and then criticize the game.

Hockey isn't the NHL. In fact, the best hockey you can find, is right down the street.

People playing in their back alley, at roller rinks near community centre's, in the snow in their backyard... That my friends is true hockey. The fact that you can have a game, with people you don't even know, and enjoy it so much is truly amazing. Completely different people sharing the same passion for the game as you. No fighting, no money, no pressure, and not competitive at all. That's the real game of hockey.

I play that game of hockey. Tonight, I got hit in the arm. It is bruised and red. My left knee is in pain. You know what? I love it...
