// Leave Without Saying Goodbye? Not Me!

Ladies and Gentleman, it's time to blastoff! In a small amount of time we will make are way to Kamloops, British Columbia where the great event Historymaker will take place!

I went out and bought a USB Port today... I'm hoping that the Historymaker video's will work out well. Wish me luck everyone!

Since I haven't packed one thing yet, and its almost 1am, I think this better be short and sweet, as I won't be able to wake up in the morning! Pray for amazing things to happen, that my video will work out well, and just for everything!

I'm out! Bye Guys!

// Historymaker Movie: DONE!

It's about time! Holy Moly! That was a long frustrating day! I started work at 10am on the Historymaker video, and I just finished it now! Wow... I am glad I'm done! Let me give you guys the run down...

Last night I received an email from Mark deHoog with instructions about changing the font. First of all, I've never downloaded a font in my life! I didn't even know you could do that! Luckily, Joel came to my rescue and showed me how it was done! So I installed the new font and all seemed well. The final touch ups would be a snap.

However, forgetting how technology treats me, it wasn't that easy!

The font file I downloaded from Mark wasn't a file that my editing system liked, so what does it do? Won't let me use it! So Joel had gone to bed, so I could no longer ask Joel, and good ol' Dave had no clue what to do. Well, I decided it was time to leave the computer at midnight before I lost my mind!

I was actually woken up by my cell phone with a call from Anne Brand! I didn't recognize the so I picked it up, because odd numbers I don't recognize could mean a call from SRY saying I got a job! So I picked up the phone, and now I'm going to a wedding! She asked if I could film a friends wedding on Saturday May 27th, which I really don't know what to expect, so we'll have to see how that goes. Anyhoo, that was my wake up call!

I was supposed to help Jade build his house today too, but he called me so early in the morning I just HAD to work on the Historymaker video, so I told him I would call him once I finished... Well, I just finished... I feel really bad because I said I would help him, and I didn't. Blah. Other plans that were cancelled today included lunch at Burnette High School, and some train watching with my train buddy Andrew. I was very disappointed that I couldn't do both of these fine events... But again, Historymaker video!

The day was filled with many interesting phone calls! First of all, Anne called me, which was crazy, because she never does (she is Sarah's friend!) and Darcy called me up, and Nick from Nat Bailey called me! It was incredible day for phone calls! Darcy and I talked about the video, I told him how excited I was and we just talked about how the video was going to make its way to Kamloops for Historymaker. Just to confirm with everybody, it will not be an opening video. However, it will be used for communion during the Monday Session, so everybody gets to leave after seeing my video! Hehehe... Yes! Nick called to! Asked if I wanted to come back to the Stadium, which I said yes to of course, and I told him I wasn't sure how it would work if I had a job for a railroad. So we will have to see how well that works out.

Anyhoo, this day consisted of a ton of stress. It involved installing, and uninstalling, and blah blah blah. Computers hate me, they truly do. Bottom line is that they video is done and making their way through the world wide web to Dacry and his team as we speak! Now I completely lost my train of thought so I'm going to say goodbye!

Historymaker is only hours away...

// Johnny Cash Keeps The Albums Coming

Johnny Cash will be releasing a new album! The album is Johnny Cash's American V: A Hundred Highways and it will be released on July 4th. It says it includes the last song Johnny Cash wrote! Wait, Johnny Cash has passed away... how is he releasing a new album you ask? The article below explains it all. Special thanks to Steph for emailing it to me!

Tuesday May 9, 2006 (Toronto, ON) - In the months leading up to his passing on September 12, 2003, Johnny Cash had been recording new material with producer Rick Rubin. On July 4, American V: A Hundred Highways, the all-new Johnny Cash album taken from those sessions, will be released on the American Recordings label through Lost Highway/Universal Music Canada. It will include the last song Cash ever wrote.

The songs that comprise American V: A Hundred Highways are as eclectic an assortment as any on the previous albums in the American series: "Help Me," a poignant plea to God, the hauntingly beautiful ballad "If You Could Read My Mind," "God's Gonna Cut You Down," a traditional spiritual song, the touching "Love's Been Good To Me," the heartrending "On The Evening Train," and "Further On (Up the Road)" are among the tracks on the new album. Songwriters for the tracks run the gamut from Hank Williams to Rod McKuen to Bruce Springsteen.

In addition, two original Cash compositions are featured, "Like the 309" and "I Came to Believe." "Like the 309" is the last song Cash wrote and, like his first recorded single, 1955's "Hey Porter," is a song that incorporates one of his favourite settings, trains: "Everybody take a look/See I'm doin' fine/Then load my box/On the 309." "I Came to Believe" is a song he wrote and originally recorded earlier in his career, and addresses the pain of addiction and connecting to a higher power.

"I think that 'American V' may be my favourite of all of the albums in the American series," said Rubin. "It's different from the others, it has a much different character. I think that this is as strong an album as Johnny ever made."

The months following the May, 2004 passing of his wife June Carter Cash, were among the most physically and emotionally painful times in Cash's life, but keeping focused on the recording of American V: A Hundred Highways proved to be his salvation. Rubin remembers, "Johnny said that recording was his main reason for being alive, and I think it was the only thing that kept him going, the only thing he had to look forward to."

Cash and Rubin began recording the songs that would find their way onto American V: A Hundred Highways in 2002, specifically on the day after they finished American IV: The Man Comes Around, which was released that November. Johnny feared that American IV might be his last release, so Rubin suggested that he immediately begin writing and recording new material. Over the next eight months, songs were cut at Rubin's Los Angeles studio and in Nashville at Johnny's main home and at his fabled cabin located across the road. Due to Cash's frail health, Rubin arranged for an engineer and guitar players to always be on call for the days that Cash felt strong enough to work.

"He always wanted to work," said Rubin. "Every morning when he'd wake up, he would call the engineer and tell him if he was physically up to working that day. Our main concern was to get a great vocal performance. Johnny would record a song, send it to me and I would build a new track up under it. In the past, at the end of this process, he'd come to L.A. And we'd go through everything together, he would re-record any vocal bits that needed re-recording. But this time, we didn't have that opportunity."

Last year, Rubin began going through these final recordings. He admitted, "I kind of dreaded doing it, after Johnny passed, going back and listening to it...it was difficult.

"With all of the albums Johnny and I made together, our goal was for each one to be the best it could possibly be, and that remained the case with 'American V,'" Ruben explained. Eventually, Cash's long-time engineer David "Fergie" Ferguson, Heartbreakers Mike Campbell (guitars) and Benmont Tench (keyboards), and Smokey Hormel (guitars), all of whom had worked on previous albums in the American series, along with Matt Sweeney (guitars) and Johnny Polonsky (guitars) went into the studio.

"We felt Johnny's presence during the whole process through to the end," said Rubin. "It felt like he was directing the proceedings, and I know that the musicians all felt that as well. Almost all of the songs were cut solely to Johnny's original vocal tracks, the musicians all keyed off his voice and were playing to him, supporting the emotion of his performance. More than once, Fergie and I would look at each other and say 'Johnny would love this,' because it was so good and so different from anything we'd done before, we knew he would be excited by what was happening."

It was decided to wait to release American V: A Hundred Highways until the recent Cash hubbub had run its course. What separates this album from the re-packages, compilations, movie soundtracks and everything else that has surfaced since Johnny's passing is, according to Rubin, "These songs are Johnny's final statement. They are the truest reflection of the music that was central to his life at the time. This is the music that Johnny wanted us to hear."

// That '70s Show Comes to an End

Stollen from That 70's Central

That '70s Show packs up the polyester bellbottoms, Zeppelin 8-tracks and lava lamps when it ends its eight-season run Thursday, May 18 on FOX. The series finale also marks the 200th episode milestone.

That '70s Show premiered on Aug. 23, 1998. Set in Point Place, Wisconsin, the series follows a group of friends who get by with a little help from each other. The show stars Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Josh Meyers, Don Stark and Tommy Chong. For seasons one through seven, Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher were also regular cast members.

The series created some signature elements that made it a hit over the years, including the surreal dream sequences, the 360-degree basement scenes and the classic '70s score. Numerous '70s icons have stopped by to guest-star, including Danny Bonaduce, Alice Cooper, Marion Ross, Eve Plumb, Ted Nugent, Valerie Harper and Roger Daltrey from The Who. This season, Don Knotts, Mary Tyler Moore Tom Bosley and Isaac Hayes are joining the list. Additionally, Luke Wilson, Lindsay Lohan, Bruce Willis, Brooke Shields, Seth Green and Jessica Simpson have also guest-starred.

The show was ranked No. 1 among entertainment programming in its Wednesday night time period among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Men 18-49/18-34/25-54 and Teens. That '70s Show also ranks in the Top 10 primetime comedies of the season among Adults 18-34 (No. 9) and Teens (No. 8) [out of 47 regular 6-net comedies].

"The reason That '70s Show has been such a smash hit is due to the talent: the actors, the writers, the director, and everybody else who helped make each episode so groovy," said executive producer Tom Werner. "Has it really been eight years?"

"That '70s Show is one of our longest-running hit comedies," said Peter Liguori, President, Entertainment for FOX. "The show's success is definitely a testament to the creativity and dedication put forth each week by the talented cast, outstanding writers and producers, and the great crew. There are a lot of things about the '70s we'd like to forget - especially those involving polyester - but this series has been a wonderful look back at this most memorable decade."

I haven't watched almost any of the new episodes this season mainly because they have sucked, but I will for sure be watching the final two next week. Any other die hard that 70's show fans are welcome to join me! It's going to be sad to see it go, it has been one of my favorite shows. I watched parts of the Final Goodbye episode today, and everybody behind the set was crying and it was very emotional! I almost wanted to cry! There were like my tv family...except they weren't? I always wanted to go watch a taping of that 70's show, but I never got the chance... something I'll have to live with.

There is also this very cool link! Check it out! Go bye some props!

Well, goodbye that 70's show! Thanks for the ride! I'm still buying all your seasons!

// It's Hockey Night Tonight!

Let's start off by saying wow! The city of Edmonton is incredibly insane! Like the fans are just so loud and crazy! I watched the first period of the oilers/sharks game, and my goodness, it was just fantastic! The fans were sooooooo loud! It was an incredible atmosphere! Anyhoo, I had to leave the game because I went to play hockey myself!

I got home at about 11:30, and I went to check the scores...only to find that the game wasn't over?! It was true! I rushed to the TV, and they were in THIRD OVERTIME! Just look at it, you just played 60 minutes worth of hockey, and after that, players get really tired. Now add on 40 more minutes!?! Wow, its always sooo exciting to watch! So seconds after I turned on the TV, Ryan Smyth passes the puck from behind the net out front to Shawn Horcoff who hammers it home and scores 2:24 seconds into the 3rd OT! Holy Crap! That place just went insane! Now let me remind you, it was 11:30 BC time. In Alberta, that's 12:30. When they actually scored it was probably 11:45, so it was almost 1 in the morning in Alberta, and it looked as if nobody had even left the building! It was absolutly insane! I was jumping and chearing and yaying! Wow, hockey rocks!

// Why All The Forwarded Emails Go In My Trash Can

Nicole sent this email out, and its about time somebody said something about these stupid things! There was another email going around about MSN shutting down and you had to forward it to everybody, and somebody emailed the sender back saying it was a bunch of BS. I really like those emails! Too bad I didn't save it, ah well enjoy this one!

Email petitions are the hardest emails not to forward, because they appeal to your conscience. In theory, there's nothing wrong with them, but in practice, they simply don't work. Why? Let's do the math.

Let's say that you sign a petition as number 1 on the list. Then you send it to 5 of your friends. Now let's assume that all of them sign their names as number 2. At this point, there are 5 different versions of the petition.

1 x 5 = 5

If each friend sends the petition to 5 of their friends, all of whom sign, there will be 25 different versions of the petition.

5 x 5 = 25

If each of those friends sends it on to 5 of their friends, all of whom sign, there will be 125 different versions of the petition.

25 x 5 = 125

If this trend continues, by the 10th set of forwards there will be almost 10 million different versions of the petition.

125 x 5 = 625

625 x 5 = 3,125

3,125 x 5 = 15,625

15,625 x 5 = 78,125

78,125 x 5 = 390,625

390,625 x 5 = 1,953,125

1,958,125 x 5 = 9,765,625

No-one, no matter how well meaning, will be able to make sense of the mess. And the email address that was supposed to collect the petitions will have long since been shut down.

If you want to make your voice heard, use your favorite search engine to find a respected organization working on the issues that are meaningful to you. Often, the organization's website will provide online petitions, pre-written emails or toll-free numbers to call.

...and that's why all the forwarded emails go into my trash can!

// Giddy Up, Sign Me Up

First of all, let me just say Happy 19th Birthday to miss Steph! 19 is a big year! Yep, yep, yep, yep. Happy Birthday Steph!!

Secondly, we got are rooms for Historymaker! I was a little worried about my room, since last year I was incredibly disapointed about my room last year. Anyhoo, before I went to the meeting I just thought to myself 'i'm going for the youth, not for myself' and I decided to just let it be. I ended up having a pretty good room which I am very excited about! Chris said he wasn't coming though, so I don't know who will be taking his place. I was hoping Chad, but I don't know, I'll have to talk to Andy about that. You know what made me really frustrated, is that not only a couple minutes out of the meeting, some of the leaders go and tell their kids that they are in their room. That was very frustrating for me, because it is really unfair for all the rest of the leaders to have to keep it a secret, when someone else goes around telling everybody.

Thirdly, the Historymaker video I have created is in Jeapordy of playing at Historymaker since I can't contact Darcy! I am extremly worried especialy since the counter says Historymaker is less then two weeks away! I ask that you would keep me in your prayers with this situation, and that I can contact Darcy soon!

Fourthly, I continue my railway job hunt this week as I am going to SRY to drop a resume off again. I have applied there before, but I'm just letting them know I'm serious. Navin is going to drop a resume off at Trans Canada Switching when he goes in for an interview, and personally, I would love that job, I would get to move in with Bill! I applied online for BNSF Friday, so we'll have to see what happens.

Fifthly, I don't feel like talking about it

Sixly (is there such a thing?) I feel somewhat discouraged today. Just with all the things I have been talking about. I think I have said this before but I'm not too excited to be working on the railway, and recently I have felt very impatient. I just want to jump right into my own business, but I can't right now. I don't really know why I feel so discouraged, but I am. Right now my relationship with God has been much much stronger, yet I still feel discouraged?

Seventhly, would you all just keep me in your prayers? I feel right now I will be going through a very important time in my life, and right now I honestly am just livin' the life. Not a care in the world, and money is not a problem. What more could I ask for? I think it's just the little things, you know? Anyhoo, I feel somewhat reliefed right now because as we speak, Darcy has just emailed me. I know things will look up, but for now, again, keep me in your prayers.

Anyhoo, i'm out! I'm trying to think of something entertaining, but I don't know! Enjoy!

// Mainstage, I Hardly Knew You

Tonight I watched The Pajama Game put on by Magee Mainstage, and let me tell you, it brought back some memories. I saw many graduates I have not seen since Grad and it was just a very special night for me.

The show was incredible. Everybody seemed so energetic and they looked so awesome! They made me want to get up and dance at some points! It was also exciting being back at my old high school for the first time since I graduated! I saw my old math teacher Ms. Garfinkel and told her I got 85% in BCIT math! She seemed very pleased! Hahaha! I saw Peter who I had not seen forever! Wow, talk about reunion!

We then got to see everybody back stage and I got to see everybody. That was the best! I got to see all my old mainstagers who did such an awesome job and it was a very emotional night! I was standing with a bunch of old mainstage alumni, such as Alex, Mike, and Annie (who were so much fun in mainstage) and we were saying "we should be the ones being greated!" At that point, it made me realize how much I missed mainstage this year. That was a class I'll never forget and the people were amazing. Everybody was so excited to see us too! Isiac and Cam and Katirina and Georgia and oh! It was just so overwhelming! I'm once again emo! I really really enjoyed myself tonight.

You know, I took part in two shows but somehow it feels like I was part of three. I really felt at home tonight, and I really felt like they, and us, were a large part of mainstage. It seems like we never left...

Goodnight Mainstage, I hardly knew you

// Tuesdays Gone

Ephesians 4: 1-16
Unity in the Body
1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. 3 Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together with peace.
4 We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. 5 There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and there is only one God and Father, who is over us all and in us all and living through us all. 7 However, he has given each one of us a special gift according to the generosity of Christ. 8 That is why the Scriptures say,
"When he ascended to the heights,
he led a crowd of captives
and gave figts to his people."
9 Notice that it says "he ascended." This means that Christ first came down to the lowly world in which we live. 10 The same one who came down is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that his rule might fill the entire universe.
11 He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13 until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ
14 Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Historymaker has put on '40 Days of Prayer' and a verse to go along with the day of prayer. I am now going to post every memory verse in hope to keep to strict guidlines I have set for myself. I am very bad at keeping to reading the bible, so I'm hoping that this works out well for not only me, but you all to. Historymaker is getting me incredibly excited! I honestly feel that there is so much potential for this weekend and I can feel my relationship with God building every day! I really am excited for what GOD is going to do @ Historymaker, not what I'm going to do with my kids, what pranks I'm going to pull, or anything like that. This weekend is about me and God, and then my kids. As selfish as that sounds, God is going to tell me crazy things, and maybe he's going to tell me to go pray for that kid over there. He moves in mysterious ways.
As for what I'VE been up to! The days are jammed packed and I am just flying through the week! This weekend I worked all day on the HM Promo Video and showed it on Sunday. I really like the video more so then others, I don't know why, I just do. Sunday was filled with Church/Family events so it was again a busy day! Yesterday, my plans were thrown off a bit after I could barely see out of my eye! It had swollen up so badly, combined with the fact I was so sleepy! So I had to visit the doctor, then I went shopping for hockey stuff! I ended up buying anything but hockey stuff, but I bought these really cool sandals and some new shirts! The evening consisted of cleaining my room and yelling at my brother, which wasn't too much fun. Anyhoo, that was Monday.
Today I got up nice and early and went to the gym with Navin, and then we went hockey shopping! I managed to drop $300 a goalie equipment (shhhh! don't tell anybody). I feel very rich lately! Anyhoo, I finally washed FJ before playing at Minoru with the guys from church. It was my big debut! I felt pretty good, but then I started to suck! Anyhoo...
The plans for tomorrow is a downtown play-date with good ol' Steph! It's going to be wicked awesome! JC Re-unite?! At least 50%! After that, it's off to school for a bit to talk to the new class of conductors, mainly for trainset reasons. The rest of the week will also consist of watching the Mainstage show, a movie with Norman, and Galiano for the weekend! Other things that need to be done, contact Darcy about HM video, finish HM Promo DVD for Andy, and the Fashion Show Video! Next week? I think I'm going to Whistler! So Holy Moly, I am busy!
Really, I'm thinking of posting something more exciting, so here's what I want from you right now. ANYBODY WHO READS THIS MUST SAY HI IN THE COMMENTS SECTION! PLEASE, AND THANK YOU!
I feel incredibly happy lately, more then I have ever been for a while!
You look so beautiful, so beautiful...
