// What an Odd Day, Yesterday That Is (Seattle?)[Olympics!]

Tons of news!

Well, it wasn't really odd day yesterday, more like not incredibly good. After receiving a phone call, I went into "what the hell do I do?" mode, because it really wasn't my place to jump into action. However, I felt that I should be there for my friends in case something does happen. Nevertheless, things are alright now, and the night turned out pretty crappy for me at least. I cancelled hockey for myself and I didn't do much but worry for the night.

In other news, people are mad at me again! Yay! Honestly, maybe I'm doing something wrong here? Well, actually I have no regrets about this argument. I really don't care if somebody is mad at me, but when it gets to the point that they are calling me inconsiderate names, which really aren't appropriate, that's when I start to get pissed off. Anywho, I'm just going to leave the situation as is, since if the person decides that they don't want to talk to me, they can't really effect me. Moving right along...

Seattle is this weekend! How incredibly exciting for it will be my first time leaving this great country since my childhood years when I went down to Disneyland, and some airshow on an American Island. Anywho, I'm trying to decide if I where the Canadian flag around me for the entire weekend? Or just go as normal? Yes...Tough choice. Steph mentioned some place (already forgot the name) which has a smashed up Hendrix guitar, put back together! That's insane! I really love history...Well, some history. Musical history is good to know as well.

I didn't really post much about the Olympics, but they have ended now! Goodness me! Well, I didn't really pay attention to the Olympics either! I would check up in the paper everyday, but I never watched any of the events. I only watched one hockey game, and the Gold Medal ceremonies for the Women's hockey game (are Canadian women rock!). We finished 3rd in the world! How impressive is that?!?! We're finally starting to prove that we are a worthy country! You know what was funny, was the fact that Great Britain only won 1 medal! Haha, what losers! If you want to read a bit more about the Olympics, CBC is always there for you!

Anywho, I'm out

// DIdn't I Used To Go Here?

Today marked the return of Matthew to RPC Youth! Kind of... anywho, it was my first appearance at least since December's all-nighter. With that, I had kept busy with good ol' Tenth Ave, and even checked out a morning service (which I'm doing with Thomas and Chad again tomorrow). Alas, I miss RPC, but then again, I am happy with where I am now.

I had a nice chat with Marian, who I LOVE to talk with!! Anywho, she was just checking up on me, and was telling me she was thinking about me this morning. I told her about how I've started to feel almost guilty for just walking out on RPC, but she told me that I shouldn't. She said that what I did made a statement, and that really meant alot to me, it encouraged me to keep doing what I'm doing. I thank Marian for that.

OH! Now I remeber what I was suposed to do! Give Steph her $20!!! Crap! Sorry Stephanie...I think I only had $15 cash too, but it would have been a start. Note to self: give Steph her money.

It was nice to see a couple people for the first time again, and I had some really good conversations as well. There was definitly a bit of akwardness as I definitly would imagine that it wouldn't have disapeared, but what can I do. I talked to Andy about Historymaker and I really hope that I can go, since he was telling me that spots were filling up. If I can't go up with the youth group, maybe I'll go up myself! Ummm, I'll think about that.

Timmy Ho's was good as usual. The laughs are always good fun! Anywho, thought I should post since I have been lacking in posting!

Time for a food run, i'm starved! (I should have eaten at Timmy's...)

PS. Thanks Jean for this crazy song Calling You. I hightly recomend, it's pretty good actually.

// Bright and Early

Happy Valentines Day!

Today consisted of a romantic dinner and a movie with my brother and dad! Yea, wasn't incredibly exciting, infact, it was kind of a let down. We went to the speghetti factory AGAIN! We went there last Monday, and then ate speghettie on thursday. I mean, come on, how much spagehitte can you take? We then watched The Pink Panther, which was an allright movie... it was all about the cheap laughs, kind of, and I wasn't in the cheap laugh type of mood. It has influenced me to talk with more of a French Accent, and I enjoy saying 'Good Work'

Tomorrow is a Mushroom Omlette Hockey Party! Woohoo! I'm going to get up bright and early at 4am and watch the first Men's Hockey Game, vs Italy, which should be complete highway robbery! The one problem, as you see before you, is that it is at 4am. If I wake up that will be a complete victory. Wish me luck, I shall need it.

I am working on an opening video to submit to Darcy, however Andrew tells me that they have one made already!? I'll wait and see what he says, and since I've already completed half of it, I'll just finish it in and RPC Youth style and use it as a promo.

Go Canada!

// Goalie Of God

Okay, I NEED YOUR ADVICE! That's right, your input would be great. I have just cleaned my Goalie Helmet and when I originally bought it, I was going to put a Bible verse on it. It would be a verse that I could remember if I was having trouble durning the game and it would boost my confidence. Also, it would be on my helmet and others would see it, and ask questions. I've found a couple that really strike my attention but what do you think? If you have any good verses post them up too, anything is great really! So far my favorite is Isaiah 40:31.

Matthew 17:20
"I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

U2

Best Rock Album

How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
U2

A noticable award is City of Blinding Lights, where they beat out Weezer for best rock song, adding on another point for the arguement with Matt Moore that U2 is better then Weezer. Although, I do give Weezer Credit, I mean, they made it that far. Honestly, who could possible beat out U2? U2 was nominated, and won all 5 Grammy awards. I love album of the year and best rock album, I mean, U2 wins Album of the year, why wouldn't you just give them Best Rock Album right there, you know there getting it. Anywho, I love U2, it's good to see them raining up at the top.

// Who Said The Day Was Over?

Allright, this day turned out to be an atomic bomb, destroying all my plans and wipping out any future tomorrow with it's radiation.

Bottom Line, Ferry was cancelled this morning and I missed my Grandma's own memorial service. My Aunt was mad at me before when I didn't do anything for the service, but now missing it? Oh snap! Sarah took a lot of heat today and we both feel really bad

Anywho, we're heading out now for the 9 0'clock ferry right about now. So until next adventure

// Emails, Emails

The following is an email from one of my instructors Burce. This just shows you how much I have to memorize...sweet!

G’day all,

The quiz next Thursday Feb 9th will be memory testing on all CROR definitions including the definition of TRACK WORK found in CROR Rules for the Protection of Track Units and Track Work. In addition I suggest that you a clear recall and understanding of the definitions for ENGINE, TRACK WORK, TRAIN, YARD, EQUIPMENT and all SPEEDS. All abbreviations are also open for memory recall on the quiz including those CPR definitions discussed in class such as NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST, CAUTIONARY LIMITS, SIDING, SWITCH AND STATION NAME SIGN.

There will also be a ten question signal quiz on Rules 405,406, 406A, 407, 407A, 408, 408A, 409, 410, 426, 428 and 429 on Thursday. The signal name and indication must be as shown in CROR. Results of the signal quizzes will be recorded. There will be a ten question signal quiz on each Rules & Regs instructional day. I expect the final 50 question signal exam will be in March. The final exam will be 5% of final grade in Rules and Regulations. Industry standard is 100% in signals exams.

Have a great weekend.

Bruce

The next update is from good ol' Jade! I'm not going to do word for word, but just a couple highlights.

Leaders Training Retreat in Seattle: March 3-5. I am looking incredibly forward to just going down to Seattle and having some time off away from life, and learning more about becoming a better leader! We apprently are heading down on Friday, and then the confrence is on Saturday. Sunday we are all just going to chill in Seattle and check out the sites and sounds! I've never been to Seattle before so, and going to the USA is rare for me to, so I am truly looking forward to some fun American Youth Leader Time!

Historymaker: Spark, Youth Retreat? We haven't decided on what we are doing yet, however both seem pretty awesome to me! The youth retreat apprently would happen at the original Mount Seymour Cabin! How cool is that?!? Historymaker Spark would be pretty wicked awesome too, and it would be great to get the youth in that kind of environment. I told everyone when I was just a kid, both events were pretty awesome, and that I'll never forget any of them. Honestly, I can't choose between the two.

Mexico?! Oh Snap! A Missions trip to Mexico?! Sign me up! The two major problems is that Graduation might interfere, since it is in late April, early May, and I don't have $800! I honestly would love to go though.

As for Historymaker in its self... I would love to go with RPC as a Leader, however I'm not sure how it will work out with a future career with the railway.

As for me...I've got a funeral to attend tomorrow and a big hockey game afterwards! I shall say goodnight!

// I Really Don't Know

I watched the OC today again! Oh man, I'm on fire with the OC lately! I really hate watching the new ones because I have no clue whats going on (where did Jimmy Cooper go?!?!) but Merrisa's sister is pretty hot! Moving on!

apparently my Aunt is mad at me for not doing anything for my Grandma's service on Saturday, which really does sit well with me. First of all, I tried making a movie for my Grandma, but one of the old videos wasn't working. Secondly, they don't have a projector. Third thing, why didn't she ask me to do something? I mean honestly, what AM I supposed to do? I have the feeling that a lot of people are mad/annoyed/not pleased with me lately which again, isn't sitting well. It's not like I purposely wake up in the morning and think to myself "I wonder who I should piss off today? I wonder how I should piss them off?"

On top of that, my life is a complete mess, literally. I haven't cleaned my bedroom for weeks, nor put my laundry away. My notes and modules from school are scattered every where and I am the most disorganized person you might ever meet. Why don't I clean it you say? I honestly have no motivation or enthusiasm or purpose to clean it, which is at this moment how I presently feel about my life. I am enjoying my time at BCIT, I really am, but somehow after October life just deteriorated and I really haven't recovered or anything. I once was lost, but then I was found, but now I'm lost again.

I don't know what the problem is, but there is definitely a problem, and I blah blah blah. It really doesn't help with people being mad at me as well. I really feel like I have nobody, yet I have lots of people there for me and there always saying "I'm here for you" but that just doesn't seem to help.

Anywho, that's just me ranting on about life...It's waiting for you, it's all messed up but we'll survive. I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
