// Workin' Numbers, Dates, and Figures
May 16th, 2006 - I went in for my 9:30 am interview with the Souther Railway of British Columbia (SRY). It seemed to go pretty well, I felt alright about it.
May 18th, 2006 - SRY calls me to schedule me a medical. I'm on the right track and things are looking good!
May 24th, 2006 - I head down to the C.O.R.E medical centre down in New Westminster and they check me out and test me for hours on end... it was good times, wait... no it wasn't really. I had to pee in a bottle!
May 30th, 2006 - On my way to my grandma's, I get an uneasy phone call regarding my medical conditions, and that I should come pick up my medical resutls. That ruined my day and to this date, I still don't know what is wrong with me!
June 9th, 2006 - My brother came into my room at 10:00am telling me somebody was on the phone for me. I rushed to the phone to be greated by SRY, telling me I started work on June 14th!
June 14th, 2006 - I started my new job and my new life at SRY... I'm freakin' out!
6 Weeks - That is how long my training is. Once those six weeks are done, they evaluate me and decide if I am ready to become a qualified Brakeman.
$19.70 - This is the training wage for a brakeman hourly... that's right, I said training!
7.5 Hours - No matter what, I will always get paid for working 7.5 hours. If I only work for 6, they will still pay me for 7.5. If I work for 3, they will still pay me 7.5. What if I go over 7.5 hours? Then I get paid Overtime!
That's work my friends... I'll go into details another night. Keep in mind, I might not post for a while though, I'm going to be freakin busy!
